রাজধানীর বনানী এলাকায় ৯ বছর বয়সী এক পথশিশুকে ধর্ষণের অভিযোগ উঠেছে। সোমবার (১৪ জুলাই) রাতে অসুস্থ অবস্থায় তাকে ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালের ওসিসিতে ভর্তি করা হয়।
বনানী থানার উপপরিদর্শক (এসআই) মো. রফিক জানান, খবর পেয়ে ক্যান্সার হাসপাতালের পেছন দিক থেকে শিশুটিকে রক্তাক্ত অবস্থায় উদ্ধার করে তারা ঢাকা মেডিকেলে নিয়ে যান। প্রাথমিক তদন্তে জানা গেছে, শিশুটি ফুটপাতে বসবাস করত এবং সোমবার রাতে কেউ বা কারা তাকে ধর্ষণের পর ফেলে রেখে পালিয়ে যায়।
এসআই রফিক আরও বলেন, “ঘটনার সঙ্গে জড়িতদের শনাক্ত ও গ্রেপ্তারে পুলিশ কাজ করছে। ইতোমধ্যে আইনি প্রক্রিয়া শুরু হয়েছে।”
ঘটনাটি নিয়ে স্থানীয়দের মাঝে ব্যাপক ক্ষোভ ও উদ্বেগ ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে। মানবাধিকার সংগঠনগুলো এ ঘটনায় দ্রুত বিচার এবং দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তির দাবি জানিয়েছে।
